“NH City Revving Up to Ramp-up Chip Manufacturing For Fighter Jets!

The city of Nashua, New Hampshire, is making great strides towards becoming a major player in the chip-manufacturing industry, and is gearing up to increase production of chips used in fighter jets.

The city currently hosts several chipmakers such as Qualcomm, AMD, and GlobalFoundaries, but now the U.S. Department of Defense’s Jet Propulsion Lab has awarded a contract to the city and authorized the installation of four new chip-making factories that will increase production by up to four times.

The mayor of Nashua, Jim Donchess, has been vocal about the project’s potential to drastically increase jobs and revenue for the city. The new factories have been designed to operate with the goal of creating new, high-paying jobs that could total some 1400 high-tech positions over its first decade in the city.

Donchess further noted that the factories would also strengthen the local economy by providing additional taxes from their formation and expansion, as well as from the increased production and the taxes from the high-paying jobs.

In addition to the promise of increased job opportunities, Donchess was excited by the prospects of creating new products for the military. With the potential to quadruple the production of chips used in fighter jets, Defense Department officials were excited to note that the new factories would help keep the military’s edge in technological advancement.

The proposed expansion of chip-manufacturing in Nashua is a major step towards creating a leading chip producer in the United States. With the new factories, the city stands to be able to produce valuable chips that will be used in a variety of industries, from the military to communications, for many years to come.
