“Trump Cleared Ahead of Time? DeSantis, Haley Promise Pardon

The news of President Donald Trump possibly facing criminal prosecution after leaving the White House could have some very interesting implications. Not only could it be a historic event, it could also give former Governors Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley some power in the process. Both of them recently pledged to pardon Trump if he’s convicted of any crimes during his time in office.

The promise from DeSantis and Haley came directly from the White House. When asked by reporters, DeSantis stated that he was confident in the President’s innocence and would completely pardon him should charges be brought against him.

This was further reiterated by Haley, who stated that she believed the president innocent and that he’d be pardoned should any charges be brought against him. While Haley wasn’t as emphatic as DeSantis, it was clear that she was on board with him and would honor the same pledge.

While it’s uncertain whether this pledge will be honored, it does open the door for some interesting possibilities. Should Trump be convicted of any crimes during his time in office, DeSantis and Haley would have the power to pardon him. This would mean that the president wouldn’t have to spend any time in prison, even if convicted.

It’ll be interesting to see how the court proceedings proceed should Trump face any criminal charges. Regardless, it’s clear that DeSantis and Haley have made their stance clear and will honor their pledge. This could set up an interesting battle between the two independent branches of government and could potentially have some wide-reaching implications.
